By Micah
I purchased the blower to ventilate my garage in the summer months when the temperatures exceed 102+F in TX.
It moves enough air to turnover the air volume in my two car garage every ~10 minutes. Working in the garage is much more bearable and avoids radiating heat to the 2nd story bedroom.
Pros:
1) Moves a lot of air for its size
2) Heavy duty powder coated steel
3) Ball bearing motor (lifetime lubrication)
4) Reasonably quiet
5) Integrated mounting bracket
Cons:
1) A bit heavy
2) Has a plastic junction box
3) Cord could be longer

By J. Hamilton
I read the previous reviews on this Hydroponic 440CFM duct fan and thought, "how loud can it be?" Well... if you plug it in and let it spool up in front of you, you have to literally shout to be heard by someone standing on the other side of the fan (a few feet away). It creates a significant amount of noise!
However, that's primarily because the fan WORKS - unlike those $29.99 jobs you can find in the box stores (that don't). Now, it's noisy right in front of you, sure. But I mounted this in my attic a foot above the existing insulation and about 3 feet from our bedroom by splicing into the existing ducting and using 6" diam band clamps to seal things up: I needed to increase airflow into our 3rd floor bedroom at the end of the A/C run and it works fantastically. When mounted in the attic, the fan noise is NOT noticeable from our bedroom below: the ducting, insulation and remote location all help to almost totally mute the sounds from within the occupied room. Just by having it turn on and off with the furnace (Suncourt DuctStat thermostat), we've noticed an easy 10 degree increase in ambient room temperature.
Pro Tips:
*Don't mount this fan in any regularly occupied room.
*Duct-tape the mounting flanges, this helps your ducting and clamps to "grip" the powdercoated surface better.
*DO mount this fan in your attic, slightly above floor-level, for a pleasant and quiet installation.
*DO use this fan if you have a room that does not receive adequate airflow from your home A/C system: it works!
*DO use a DuctStat thermostat device or switching device to wire it to your furnace to prevent constant operation (to save on electricity costs)
*The longer the ducting, the more sound suppressing occurs - mount as far away from bedrooms as possible.

Everything came fast and secure. This product is very good. A little loud but not bad enough to complain. Will buy against soon as I grow the size of my garden
