Product Description
The Panasonic FV-10NLF1 WhisperLine 120 CFM In-Line Fan has a totally enclosed condenser motor and a large, double suction blower wheel to quietly move air. The blower wheel is designed to draw air in from both sides allowing more area for the air to enter the wheel. Panasonic fans are quiet enough that you might not even know they're on. This fan is designed to give you continuous, trouble-free operation for many years due to its high-quality components and permanently lubricated motors which wear at a slower pace. We designed the electrical configuration of this model's condenser motor to allow it to operate at lower temperatures, increasing the life of the motor and bearings. The fan housing is made of heavy-gauge zinc galvanized steel and painted to protect it from rust. This in-line fan fits a 4-Inch duct and can be installed in five different positions and joist, truss and suspension brackets are included to help make your installation as easy as possible. With a 1.0 sone level and rated 120 cubic feet per minute, this fan is Energy Star qualified. The Panasonic FV-10NLF1 WhisperLine 120 CFM In-Line Fan is covered by a manufacturer warranty for period of three years from the date of the original purchase and is sold one item per package. Panasonic WhisperLine fans are designed for multiple-task ventilation. This means that you can ventilate multiple areas or multiple rooms with just one fan. For example, you can place inlets over the shower, tub, toilet and/or vanity in a single bathroom and still use just one fan. In recent years, homes have become more airtight and energy efficient. While this lowers the cost to heat and air-condition a home, it also retains pollutants that can be hazardous to its occupants. One way to improve the air quality of the home is through whole-house ventilation with a Panasonic WhisperLine fan which removes stale air and provides fresh air on a slow, continuous basis.

I really like this unit! It's not the cheapest bath fan out there, but if you want "quiet" this is the one you want.
Seems very well-built, and was easy to install with one exception and this is my only complaint: the straight part of the inlet/outlet fittings is very short - doesn't give you much to attach hose/pipe to. I think it would be better if they could be lengthened about 1/2".

I installed one of these to replace a nine year-old NuTone 110 cfm in-ceiling exhaust fan for our laundry room. The old Nutone was very noisy, adding its din to the noise generated by the washer and dryer.
The new Panasonic inline fan is incredibly quiet, and since it's a squirrel cage-style blower, not a fan, it generates a good amount of static pressure. Once I got everything hooked up, the only noise was from the air rushing through the intake and ductwork; the blower unit itself is inaudible.
The unit may be mounted in any orientation except with the electrical connection and service door facing down. The supplied mounting brackets have limited usage; I ended up fastening the unit to my plywood mounting panel with my own angle brackets instead.
I'll definitely consider retrofitting the other exhaust fans in my house with this or the larger units as appropriate.

By Andrew J. Laduke
I'm a remodeling contractor. A customer requested we install this fan because it could vent the main bath we're renovating, and the master bath that we weren't touching.
The unit has brackets which made it easy to install the joists/rafters in the attic. We bought 4" insulated tubing/ductwork and connected them in the attic.
The grills were easy to install too.
The only hard part was that we needed an electrician to hook it up. He used a "parallel" circuit design, so each switch worked completely independent of the other.
Also, don't forget to buy the accessory kit. It has the baffle modules to prevent back flow of air.
My customer loves it, and now were installing it on a double remodel we're doing.
